Well let me finish what I started! when we sing I always try to watch and learn something from the things I see around me. At this singing event I've learn this. If our industry and the churches who still love Southern Gospel Music worked as hard as the industry and Churches that love Christian Rock ect, you would see something. You may ask what do you mean Mac? I mean this, Youth Minsters along with Industry also promoters work hard at raising funds to bring in the Artist for there YOUTH. I feel in some ways They work harder in Keeping our Music out then we try getting in! How do they do this? After talking to the folks who owned the place I found out there was a team that worked hard to make this work. A team of folks working hard all year round to raise money from offerings to companies that put big bucks behind the event. They had the lights the sound the stage I mean everything that put on a BIG SHOW. They had Youth from different church groups that either made it a camping trip or brought in the youth by the bus loads. There was no price to pay at the door, now they did have a box you could make a donation. There was a lot of people working together to make this event work. I feel if we could work together like this we could have a few events like this that is built around Southern and Country gospel. I may be wrong but if we could get the Youth Leaders that like southern gospel to work with us and we work with them along with record companies and a team that worked year round on raising the money that would pay the bills to put something like this on, We could put our style of music in front of some kids that would love what we do and we could keep our fan base GROWING!

I don't believe singing with tracks will be what they would like, I could be wrong but I saw a lot of kids WALK right on by the groups that were using tracks but stop to listen to us for a while. I believe they would have walked on by us if it wasn't for our BAND. I had some kids walk up to me and say HEY Ya'll ROCK! I don't hear that to often. I talked to some Youth Leaders there and ask them what was there main reason being here and there answer was this, THE KIDS!! You see they were there to hear and see the show but they were there also for a life to be changed. They gave an invatation for the kids and trust me there was some decisions made. That is what those Youth Leaders are there for! Sure they love the music but they want those kids to leave there with something and that something is Jesus. Did they take something back home with them that will last well that's not for me to decide. But I do believe we have something to offer for the kids and something that they will love. I know every kid is not going to love it but every person that loves southern gospel doesn't like The Dove Brothers. We have got to keep trying to reach these kids with our music. I know they would love to be part of our music too.

Since we added the Band I see more kids coming up to us and saying things like Hey I play drumms or keyboards ect. They don't know they don't like our music because they've never heard it or seen it. I am not saying we are the best because we have a Band so let me stop that before it gets started! I do believe LIVE music would open a lot of doors for southern gospel. I would like to see Churches and Artist along with a put together team and try at lease one event like this with the Lord and Southern Gospel as the Main Event! I hope when you read this you can understand what I wanted to share. I am not a great blog writer I am sure there are some words spelled wrong and some places that need a period and so on. But I just wanted to share with you what was on my HEART! I am going to keep trying and I am working on something as I write this.

I know it has been a while since my last post. But today I felt like writing something. I'll try not to be long but I hope you can understand what I am trying to say. The Dove Brothers did a date a few weeks back. This date was really built around Christian Rock and other styles of Gospel Music. There main concern was the Young People! Boy that place was covered with Kids but I also notice there parents were right there with them. Well there was one stage for there style and one stage for our style. One stage was on one side of the ranch and one on the other. The Christian Rock stage had thousands, our stage wasn't even close. But I notice something while we were there. We went on last the artist on before us were great but they had tracks. I notice the young people walking by to go to the other stage just walked on by. But when we hit the stage with the BAND, live music they would STOP and listen for a song or two and then walk with there friends to see there favorite Christian Rock group. I Talked to the promoters I asked how can you pull this off without a ticket price. Well I am going to wait till my next post to give you the answer and the rest of the story on this. But before I do I would like for you to let me know if you are even interested in knowing. So leave a comment to let me know!!!!!
